Breeze Adds 19 Fresh Routes Across Its Network

Breeze Airways
has announced that it added three new cities and 19 new routes across its network, with six of those routes being one-stop itineraries that do not require passengers to switch aircraft during the stop, marketed as ‘BreezeThru.’

Growing in New York state

Breeze Airways stated that starting this spring, it will add three new cities to its route map, including Albany International Airport (ALB) and Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) in New York state, as well as Memphis International Airport (MEM) in Tennessee.

David Neeleman, the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Breeze Airways, said that in 2024, the airline experienced incredible growth. Neeleman, who founded several airlines, including Azul, JetBlue
, and WestJet, added that the company was looking forward to continuing its growth momentum in 2025.

“We see great demand and opportunity for our premium product offering in secondary markets across the country and are excited to add Rochester, Albany, and Memphis to our network.”

In Albany, Breeze Airways will launch flights to Charleston International Airport (CHS), Raleigh–Durham International Airport
(RDU), and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW, BreezeThru service). In Rochester, in addition to flights to Charleston and Raleigh-Durham, the airline will fly to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY, BreezeThru) and Orlando International Airport
(MCO, BreezeThru).

From Memphis, the Airbus A220-300
and Embraer E190 and E195 operator, which has 49 aircraft, per ch-aviation data, the airline will add services to Raleigh-Durham, Tampa International Airport (TPA), and Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD, BreezeThru service).

Expanding in other cities

Breeze Airways will also be resuming or starting full-year or seasonal services elsewhere as well. For example, in Ohio, it will resume seasonal flights from Akron–Canton Airport (CAK) to Los Angeles International Airport
(LAX) and add seasonal flights from John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) to Portland International Jetport (PWM).

In Florida, in addition to the aforementioned Albany – Fort Myers/Southwest Florida, Rochester – Orlando, and Memphis – Tampa services, Breeze Airways will connect Fort Myers with Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), Orlando with Raleigh-Durham, and Pensacola International Airport (PNS) with Raleigh-Durham and Rhode Island/Providence (BreezeThru).

Both North and South Carolina will also welcome new passenger traffic from new Breeze Airways services. Apart from the aforementioned Charleston, Raleigh-Durham, and Greenville-Spartanburg routes, the carrier will fly from Charleston to Burlington International Airport (BTV), from Greenville-Spartanburg to Pittsburg International Airport (PIT), Westchester County Airport (HPN), and Portland-Jetport.

All of the routes mentioned above start either in May or June, with eight of the new routes being seasonal resumptions or seasonal-only services that the airline will begin operating in the next few months.

Building on the back of its profitable quarter

The airline highlighted that the new routes were announced on the heels of its first-ever operating profit in a quarter, with the company ending Q4 2024 with an undisclosed operating profit, revenues of $200 million, and an operating margin of 4%. Year-end revenues were $680 million, an increase of 78% year-on-year (YoY).

Speaking about the quarterly results, Neeleman remarked that in under four years, Breeze Airways has grown at an unprecedented rate while establishing a robust presence in dozens of underserved markets across the US.

The airline’s financial update, which provided limited insight into the company’s finances since it is not a publicly listed entity, noted that its business model focused on services to secondary airports that have been abandoned by legacy airlines.

As of December 2024, Breeze Airways was the only airline flying on 87% out of its 220 non-stop routes, with its low-cost structure facilitating fare options that are, on average, 44% lower compared to other carriers.
