A Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes ( GOL
) Boeing 737 MAX has collided with a ground vehicle during its takeoff roll in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, with all people onboard the aircraft evacuating safely.
Collision during the takeoff roll
Videos posted on social media, including X, formerly known as Twitter, showed the GOL 737 MAX 8, registered as PS-GPP, after its collision with a ground vehicle at Rio de Janeiro Galeao International Airport (GIG). Simple Flying has approached GOL for comment.
Flightradar24 showed that the airframe was departing on flight G31674 to Fortaleza Pinto Martins International Airport (FOR). However, the aircraft stopped at the end of the runway following its collision with the ground vehicle.
Videos inside the cabin during the takeoff roll showed that while everything was normal during the first few seconds, there was a loud thump that was heard inside the cabin followed by the pilots stopping the takeoff roll at Rio De Janeiro-Galeao.
