The German forklift manufacturer Jungheinrich has acquired Atlanta-based Invar, a systems integrator for warehouse and order fulfillment solutions, saying the move will enhance Jungheinrich’s expansion in North America and grow its global footprint as well as its automation business.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Jungheinrich made the move through its subsidiary Storage Solutions, an Indiana-based warehouse and automation design consulting firm.
Founded in 2007, Invar has a proprietary Warehouse Execution System (WES) and a team of 50 professionals, serving a U.S. customer base with a strategic focus on companies seeking integrated warehouse design, advanced WES capabilities, comprehensive project execution, and reliable after-sales service.
For Storage Solutions, the acquisition enables the scalable delivery of customized automation solutions with a focus on mobile AS/RS, positioning Jungheinrich as one of the leading integrators in this segment in North America and beyond. By integrating Invar, Storage Solutions expands its operational footprint with two new locations in Atlanta, Georgia, and Erlanger, Kentucky, securing direct access to new customer segments and local integration capabilities tailored to the U.S. market, Jungheinrich said.
In addition, the acquisition of Invar is another step in the implementation of Jungheinrich’s Strategy 2030+, which envisions targeted investments in automation solutions and the expansion of the North American business.
