Landers Pocket opens at Brisbane Airport offering dining, live music, beer and new entertainment experiences
Landers Pocket officially opened its doors today, forming part of an expanded 16-hectare entertainment hub at Brisbane Airport’s Skygate precinct, easily accessible via a free bus from the Domestic and International Terminals.
Once fully complete, Landers Pocket will feature padel courts, a Kick-n-Catch play zone, a 3,000-person amphitheatre for live music and major events, and a 1,000-person lawn hosting festivals, market pop-ups and family-friendly activities. The existing state-of-the-art golf driving range at Golf Central has also doubled in size and now includes ball tracking in every bay.
The precinct’s name honours Brisbane Airport’s history, referencing the market garden that occupied part of the site a century ago.
James Cooper, Managing Director at Landers Pocket, said the precinct was four times the size of Howard Smith Wharves and would offer a distinctive consumer experience for thousands of visitors and travellers each week. “Our vision for Landers Pocket is to create a truly unique entertainment destination – a place that celebrates award-winning beer and gin, new wave golf and elevated dining. This is just the beginning.”
Todd Atkinson, General Manager at 4 Pines Brewing Co., said the brewery would feature 32 draught taps, including the core range, alongside two rotating taps of bespoke Brisbane limited-release beers brewed on-site. “4 Pines Brewing Landers Pocket isn’t your average pub – it’s part of a one-of-a-kind entertainment quarter with the freshest beer brewed on-site, great food, good vibes, and something for everyone. We’re pumped to throw the doors open and be part of this epic new precinct,” he said.
Scott Norris, Executive General Manager Commercial at Brisbane Airport, said the new hub would serve both locals and travellers. “This new dining and entertainment precinct at Skygate reinforces that Brisbane Airport is more than just a gateway, it’s a destination in its own right for Brisbane residents. This vibrant new hub is for everyone, whether you’re touching down, taking off or simply dropping in for an afternoon of sunshine and craft pours in the beer garden.”
Brisbane Airport is currently celebrating its 100th birthday and is undergoing a $5 billion Future BNE transformation across the precinct over the next five years.
