In a key administrative development, Sambeet Saurav Nayak has assumed charge as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL).
A 2012-batch officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), Nayak brings with him over a decade of experience in railway operations and administration. Prior to this appointment, he served in various critical roles across operations, commercial management, and safety in the East Coast Railway, gaining hands-on exposure to complex logistics and regulatory frameworks.
His appointment as CVO is expected to strengthen vigilance mechanisms within MCL, a key subsidiary of Coal India Limited, which plays a significant role in India’s coal production and energy security.
Nayak’s experience in operational efficiency and compliance is likely to contribute towards enhancing transparency, accountability, and governance standards within the organisation.
