

Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande formally assumed charge as Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Western Coalfields Limited at the company’s headquarters in Nagpur today, marking a significant leadership transition for the coal PSU.
On his arrival, Dr. Pande was warmly welcomed by senior officials of the company, including Director (Finance) Dr. Bikram Ghosh, Director (Technical) Anandji Prasad, and Director (Technical/Projects & Planning) Sandeep Paranjape.
Prior to taking charge, Dr. Pande paid homage at the Shaheed Smarak and was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by WCL security personnel, reflecting the organization’s tradition and respect for leadership.
Following the formal assumption of office, Dr. Pande interacted with functional directors and senior executives, outlining key priority areas for the company. He emphasized a strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, transparency, innovation, and employee welfare as central pillars for driving WCL’s future growth and performance.
His leadership is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening WCL’s operational efficiency and aligning the company with evolving sectoral and national energy priorities.
