BSNL CMD Additional Charge Extended: Ravi A Robert Jerard Gets Six-Month Extension – Indian PSU

The Government of India has approved a six-month extension of additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to Ravi A Robert Jerard.

As per an order issued by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has sanctioned the extension with effect from April 15, 2026. The extension will be valid for six months or until a regular CMD assumes charge, or until further orders are issued, whichever is earlier.

Ravi A Robert Jerard, currently serving as Deputy Director General (DDG) in DoT, continues to hold additional charge of CMD, BSNL, along with CMD roles at Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) and Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL).

The order also states that he will not be entitled to any additional remuneration during this period of holding extra charge.
