Another story reports on sham AI-generated “local news” sites now multiplying where real newsrooms used to be (Florida Tribune). An then a caution: The Atlantic’s alerts that wearable sensors increasingly mean everything you say is being recorded (The Atlantic).
Underneath this noise, the institutional middle keeps consolidating to survive. Boston’s arts budget is deflating as federal pandemic money runs out (WBUR). Pittsburgh’s two largest stage companies have merged, and theater artists fear the gig market that kept them in town is shrinking (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette).
