
Bharat Coking Coal Limited Director (Technical-Operations), Sanjay Kumar Singh, visited Bhurungia Colliery under the West Jharia (WJ) Area to review the progress of activities being undertaken under the Temporary Mine Closure Plan (TMCP).
During the inspection, Singh assessed key operational sites where sealing and dismantling works are currently in progress. He also reviewed the implementation of medical camps, along with ongoing air and water quality monitoring initiatives being carried out as part of the TMCP framework.
Emphasizing the importance of responsible mine closure, Singh underscored the need to maintain the highest standards of safety, environmental protection, and community welfare in the project area. He noted that effective execution of TMCP activities is critical for ensuring a safe and systematic closure process while preserving ecological balance.
The Director held detailed discussions with the Regional General Manager (WJ Area), Project Officer, Manager of Mahuda Group of Mines, and Regional Manager (Civil), WJ Area. He directed officials to ensure that all TMCP-related activities are completed within the stipulated timelines, without compromising on quality.
Senior officials from BCCL Headquarters and the West Jharia Area were also present during the visit.
