MCL CMD Uday Anant Kaole Reaffirms Commitment to Coal Quality, Quantity at Consumers’ Meet – Indian PSU

Reinforcing its customer-centric approach, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) Chairman-cum-Managing Director Uday Anant Kaole on Friday chaired a Consumers’ Meet at the company’s headquarters, reiterating MCL’s unwavering commitment to ensuring both the quality and quantity of coal supplied to its consumers.

The interactive meeting brought together representatives from major power sector companies and senior officials of Coal India Limited (CIL) to deliberate on upcoming policy formulations and proposed modifications to the Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA). The platform enabled stakeholders to exchange views on operational challenges, policy expectations and measures to strengthen the coal supply chain.

Addressing the gathering, Kaole emphasized MCL’s continued focus on reliable coal supplies while maintaining high standards of quality to meet the growing requirements of the power sector. He also encouraged an open dialogue with consumers to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery.

Among the senior officials present were A.K. Behura, Director (Finance) & In-charge (Marketing & Sales), MCL; S.K. Sadangi, Senior Advisor (Railways & Marketing), CIL; Manoj Kumar, Senior Advisor (Production & Dispatch), CIL; and P.S. Saxena, Advisor (Electricity), CIL.

Representatives from several leading power producers, including MAHAGENCO, APGENCO, TNPGCL, Adani Power Ltd, Jindal Power Limited, Vedanta Ltd, Jindal India Power Ltd, GMR Kamalanga Energy Generation Ltd, DB Power Ltd, R.K.M. Power Ltd, SEIL Energy, SKS Power and Haldia Energy Limited, participated in the meeting. They shared valuable feedback, operational insights and suggestions aimed at further improving coal supply mechanisms and customer service.

The Consumers’ Meet reflects MCL’s ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement with its stakeholders and ensure a transparent, responsive and efficient coal supply ecosystem.
