  • The airline will support US Olympic teams during the Paris 2024 and during future Olympic Games.
  • The eye-popping livery features red, white, and blue colors, the US flag, and the Olympic team logos.

The 2024 Paris Olympic Games are right around the corner, and US legacy carrier Delta Air Lines has something special planned to celebrate the athletes who will be representing the United States in Paris this upcoming summer. This is not the first time that the carrier will commemorate its relationship with the US Olympic Team by featuring a special Team USA-themed livery.

The brand-new aircraft that has been painted with this unique livery, an Airbus A350-900, has recently been spotted at the manufacturer’s Toulouse factory in an impressive red, white, and blue livery. The plane is currently undergoing certification operations and will be delivered to the legacy carrier later this year.

Delta Air Lines maintains a sponsorship with the United States Olympic and Paralympic teams and will be a key supporter of the group’s travel efforts to Paris this summer. The carrier has also secured sponsorships for the Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games, which are scheduled for 2028, and the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, which are scheduled for 2026.

An exciting livery

As reported by Aerotime Hub, excitement about the airline’s new liveries has only continued to grow in and around Airbus’ Toulouse factory. A unique livery was spotted just a few weeks ago, one which will primarily advertise the 2028 Los Angeles games, with “LA28” appearing prominently on the fuselage.

More recently, the carrier’s Team USA livery has also been seen outside the manufacturer’s important Toulouse facility, one which bears a strong resemblance to the A330-900neo that wore a similar livery to carry athletes to the 2022 Beijing games. The aircraft received a test registration F-WZGU, performed multiple taxi checks, and even had a rejected takeoff test (RTO) in Toulouse over the course of the past week.

Most notable, however, is that this new jet has taken to the skies for its first test flight, which has excited those following the story of Delta’s unique Olympic liveries. According to data from Flightradar24, the aircraft took to the skies on the morning of 10 April for a three-hour test flight.

At 10:17 AM, the Airbus A350-900 took off from Airbus’ Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) and flew around the area until it landed back at the same facility at 1:31 PM. As the aircraft is currently undergoing rigorous testing, it is likely that the plane will take to the skies for another such test flight in the near future.

Livery specifications

This livery is undeniably eye-popping and stands out among other aircraft within the carrier’s fleet. The red, white, and blue color scheme matches Delta’s existing color palette, so the livery works seamlessly and allows the jet to celebrate Team USA with some unique Delta flair.

The aircraft also features the flag of the United States on the side of the front fuselage, alongside the logos of the US Olympic and Paralympic teams. While earlier Team USA liveries only featured a singular blue stripe, this aircraft will be denoted by multiple stripes of flowing red, white, and blue.
