SINGAPORE : PSA Singapore has achieved another landmark milestone as Tuas Port has successfully handled 25 million TEUs since the commencement of operations in September 2022, underscoring the rapid growth and operational excellence of what is set to become the world’s largest fully automated container terminal.

The achievement reflects the successful and steady ramp-up of operations at Tuas Port, which has become a cornerstone of Singapore’s strategy to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading global transshipment and maritime hubs. Designed with next-generation automation, artificial intelligence, and smart port technologies, Tuas Port is transforming the future of container handling by delivering higher productivity, greater efficiency, and enhanced sustainability.

As a key pillar of PSA Groups “Node to Network” strategy, Tuas Port plays a vital role in connecting global supply chains through seamless integration across ports, inland logistics, and digital ecosystems. The strategy aims to create a resilient and interconnected logistics network that enables faster, more reliable, and value-added cargo movement for customers worldwide.

Currently operating 14 deep-water berths, Tuas Port is progressing according to its phased development plan and is on track to expand to 18 operational berths by 2027. Upon full completion in the coming years, the mega port will consolidate Singapore’s container operations into a single highly efficient facility with the capacity to handle up to 65 million TEUs annually, significantly enhancing the nation’s long-term port capacity and competitiveness.

The expansion is supported by cutting-edge technologies, including automated quay cranes, autonomous electric yard vehicles, intelligent planning systems, and data-driven operational platforms. These innovations improve vessel turnaround times, optimize terminal productivity, enhance safety, and contribute to lower carbon emissions, reinforcing PSA Singapore’s commitment to sustainable port development.

The 25-million-TEU milestone highlights the strong confidence placed by global shipping lines and logistics partners in PSA Singapore’s capabilities and further cements Tuas Port’s position as a benchmark for the ports of the future.

As global trade continues to evolve, PSA Singapore remains committed to delivering world-class port services through innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable growth, ensuring that Tuas Port continues to serve as a critical gateway connecting Singapore with international markets and strengthening global supply chain resilience.
