Chairman of Coal India Limited (CIL), B. Sairam, met Mr Bernard Lynch, Consul General of Australia in Kolkata, at Coal India’s corporate office in Kolkata.
The meeting focused on strengthening strategic collaboration between India and Australia in the mining sector, with particular emphasis on critical minerals. Discussions covered the progress being made in securing and developing critical mineral resources and opportunities for deeper cooperation in this strategically important area.
The two sides also explored possibilities for collaboration in Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS), including the adoption of advanced technologies and modern mining solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity and sustainability.
The engagement highlights the potential for stronger India-Australia cooperation in critical minerals and advanced mining technologies, both of which are increasingly important for securing resilient supply chains and supporting the future growth of the mining sector.
