SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN Limited, has invited bids for the development of up to 1,000 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Punjab and Rajasthan.
The tender covers the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the solar projects along with land development and comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services for five years.
According to the tender, SGEL is seeking developers for solar PV projects to be established in the two states, with the aggregate capacity targeted at 1,000 MW. The initiative is part of SJVN’s broader strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio and accelerate the development of utility-scale solar power.
Projects to Include Land Development and O&M
The scope of work extends beyond EPC execution. Successful bidders will also be responsible for associated land development requirements and the operation and maintenance of the commissioned projects for a period of five years.
The projects are expected to contribute to the expansion of renewable power generation capacity in Punjab and Rajasthan, two states with significant potential for large-scale solar deployment.
Bids Invited Till September 16
Interested bidders have been invited to submit their bids by September 16, 2026.
The tender is significant for the renewable energy sector as it offers an opportunity to participate in a large-scale solar development programme backed by a public sector power company.
SJVN has been steadily expanding beyond its traditional hydropower business into solar, wind and other renewable energy segments. The latest 1,000 MW tender further underlines the company’s growing focus on renewable generation and its contribution to India’s clean-energy transition.
The development also comes amid an accelerating push by public sector companies to build large renewable energy portfolios and support India’s long-term clean-energy and energy-security objectives.
