Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) has taken a significant step towards the digital transformation of employee welfare services with the launch of two technology-enabled platforms — the CPRMSE/NE 2.0 Portal for online medical claim processing of ex-employees and the Online Dependent Employment Portal for submission and tracking of proposals relating to employment or monetary compensation.
The portals were formally launched today by CMD CCL Nilendu Kumar Singh at Manthan Auditorium, CCL HQ, Ranchi. The programme was attended by Director (Finance) Pawan Kumar Mishra through video conferencing, Director (Human Resources) Harsh Nath Mishra, Director (P&P) Anup Hanjura, Chief Vigilance Officer Pankaj Kumar, along with General Managers, Heads of Departments, senior officers and employees of CCL.

Speaking on the occasion, CMD CCL Nilendu Kumar Singh said it was a matter of pride that both platforms had been developed in-house by CCL’s own System Department in close coordination with the concerned functional departments. He appreciated the efforts of the teams involved in conceptualising, developing, testing and implementing the portals and emphasised the importance of leveraging technology to make employee welfare services more accessible, transparent and efficient.
CPRMSE/NE 2.0: Making Medical Claim Processing Simple and Digital
The CPRMSE/NE 2.0 Portal transforms the medical claim process for ex-employees from a largely physical and file-based system into an end-to-end digital workflow. Through the portal, retired coal employees can submit medical claims and supporting documents online from their homes, track the status of their claims and respond digitally to observations, thereby reducing the need for physical visits to offices.
The portal facilitates the electronic movement of claims among the PRB, CMS/Medical and Finance Departments, along with digital record management, audit trails and SMS/mobile alerts. These features are aimed at making the medical reimbursement process more transparent, efficient and accessible for CCL’s retired workforce.
Online Dependent Employment Portal: Greater Transparency and Accessibility
The Online Dependent Employment Portal provides a digital platform for dependents and claimants of employees who have passed away during service to initiate and track proposals relating to employment or monetary compensation.
The portal enables online tracking of cases and facilitates timely communication with bereaved families regarding deficiencies, pending actions and important stages of processing through SMS and email notifications.
Developed In-House by CCL’s System Department
A significant feature of both initiatives is that the CPRMSE/NE 2.0 and Online Dependent Employment Portal have been developed completely in-house by the System Department of CCL, leveraging the organisation’s own technical expertise and human resources.
A Step Towards Paperless, Transparent and Technology-Driven Service Delivery
The launch of the two portals marks a shift from conventional file-driven processes towards transparent, time-bound and centrally monitored digital service delivery. By enabling online submission, digital processing, status tracking and electronic communication, the initiatives are expected to improve accessibility for beneficiaries, strengthen accountability and help minimise delays in the delivery of welfare benefits.
The initiatives reaffirm CCL’s commitment to paperless governance, digital transformation and citizen-centric service delivery, with a particular focus on improving ease of access to welfare services for retired employees and the dependents of deceased employees.
