NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has invited bids for the development of up to 600 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic projects near its Dhule Solar Project in Maharashtra, stepping up its renewable energy development efforts.

The tender covers two solar power blocks of 300 MW each. Eligible bidders can participate for either one block or both blocks under the tender conditions. The projects will be connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS).

The Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) package includes land acquisition and development, construction of the solar plants, and associated power evacuation infrastructure.

Land Acquisition and Transmission Infrastructure

Under the scope of work, the selected contractor will be responsible for identifying and acquiring suitable land and ensuring its transfer to NTPC REL through ownership or lease arrangements. The land must be free from encumbrances and accommodate the requirements of the solar projects as well as the associated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

The package also includes the complete design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the solar photovoltaic plants, along with the associated electrical and civil works.

For power evacuation, the contractor will develop a dedicated 220 kV transmission line and construct new terminal line bays at NTPC REL’s Dhule Solar Project pooling substation. The infrastructure is intended to facilitate the evacuation of electricity generated by the projects into the grid.

Three-Year Operation and Maintenance

The EPC contractor will also undertake performance testing to demonstrate guaranteed power generation, supply mandatory spares and provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services for the solar plants and associated switchyard for three years from commissioning.

The integrated scope places responsibility for land, plant construction and evacuation infrastructure within the same package, supporting coordinated project execution.

Bidding Schedule and Security Deposit

NTPC REL issued the invitation for bids on October 16, 2026. The tender documents are available for download until October 26, 2026, at 5 pm IST. The pre-bid conference and the last date for submitting queries are scheduled for October 28.

The deadline for submission of techno-commercial and price bids is November 13, 2026, at 3 pm IST, with bid opening scheduled for 3:30 pm the same day.

The tender specifies an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹20 crore for bids covering either one 300 MW block or both blocks, according to the published tender details. The bidding document fee is nil. Bidders must also upload a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement through the designated electronic tendering portal to obtain access to the official bidding documents.

The Dhule project tender adds to NTPC REL’s renewable energy development pipeline, with the proposed solar capacity supported by dedicated transmission infrastructure and provisions for future energy storage integration.
