BDL Secures ₹1,347 Crore Order from HAL for Helina Launchers and CMDS Systems – Indian PSU

State-owned defence manufacturer Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) has secured a major domestic order worth ₹1,347.71 crore from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), marking another significant milestone in India’s indigenous defence manufacturing programme.

According to BDL, the contract comprises two major components. The first is the supply of Helina Launchers and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) valued at ₹1,109.37 crore (gross). Helina is the helicopter-launched version of India’s indigenously developed anti-tank guided missile, designed to enhance the Indian Armed Forces’ combat capabilities.

The second component includes the supply of Counter Measures Dispensing System (CMDS) Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) worth ₹238.34 crore (gross). CMDS plays a critical role in protecting military aircraft from incoming missile threats by deploying countermeasures.

BDL said the entire order will be executed over a period of 24 to 60 months. The contract is a domestic order and is expected to further strengthen India’s defence preparedness while supporting the Government’s ‘Make in India’ and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives in the defence sector.

The company also stated that the detailed terms and conditions of the contract have not been disclosed due to national security considerations.

In its regulatory filing, BDL clarified that the order does not involve any promoter or promoter group interest and does not fall under the category of a related-party transaction.

The latest contract reinforces BDL’s position as one of India’s leading defence public sector enterprises and highlights the growing collaboration between indigenous defence manufacturers to build self-reliance in strategic defence technologies.
