BEML Limited, a defence public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has secured an export and maintenance order worth approximately ₹75.58 crore for high-mobility military vehicles in Southeast Asia, strengthening its presence in the international defence market.
The contract covers the export and maintenance of HMV 12×12 and HMV 8×8 vehicles, designed for demanding mobility requirements. The company disclosed the order in a regulatory filing on October 9.
The agreement combines vehicle exports with maintenance services, potentially supporting longer-term customer engagement beyond the initial supply of equipment. However, BEML has not publicly identified the specific Southeast Asian country or disclosed the delivery schedule.
BEML strengthens defence export portfolio
The order adds to BEML’s growing business across defence, aerospace, mining and construction, and rail and metro transportation. The company manufactures specialised equipment for India’s defence requirements while pursuing opportunities in overseas markets.
BEML has also secured domestic defence contracts in 2026, including a ₹590 crore Ministry of Defence order for trawl assemblies for the Army’s T-72 and T-90 tanks.
The latest export contract provides another opportunity for the company to expand its international footprint. Its eventual financial contribution will depend on execution, delivery and maintenance performance.
