CMD BCCL Inspects Ena Colliery in Kusunda Area; Reviews Mining Operations and Production Preparedness – Indian PSU
Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), Mr. Manoj Kumar Agrawal, today carried out a comprehensive inspection of Ena Colliery under the Kusunda Area, reviewing ongoing mining operations and assessing preparedness for enhanced production.
The CMD was accompanied by Director (Human Resources) Mr. Murali Krishna Ramaiah, Director (Technical Operations) Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, along with senior officials from BCCL Headquarters, Kusunda Regional Office, and the project management team.
During the inspection, Mr. Agrawal closely observed mining activities and laid special emphasis on optimal deployment of machinery and effective utilization of installed capacity. He directed concerned officials and contractors to augment machinery capacity in line with rising daily production requirements to ensure timely achievement of production targets.
The CMD instructed departments to ensure robust pumping systems, adequate illumination, and strict adherence to safety norms to enhance operational efficiency. He also stressed the importance of securing all statutory approvals and permits related to the proposed mine expansion within stipulated timelines.
Inspecting the coal dump, Mr. Agrawal directed that only quality coal should be stacked and dispatched. He further emphasized the development of proper motorable roads, adequate pipeline networks, and strengthening of sprinkler systems to mitigate fire hazards. Contractors were also instructed to ensure that vehicles operate strictly within approved transportation capacities for smooth coal evacuation and compliance with quality standards.
Concluding the inspection, the CMD urged field and mining management teams to function with greater coordination, mutual cooperation, and strong team spirit. He reiterated that maximizing quality coal production and dispatch, while maintaining the highest safety standards, remains BCCL’s top priority.

Jha, contractor representatives, and other senior officers from BCCL Headquarters and Regional Office.
