Changi Airport Group (CAG) has introduced FlightSaver Assurance, a new feature on the Changi App designed to give travellers instant rewards when their scheduled departure from Singapore is delayed by three hours or more.

The assurance, part of the upgraded ‘Save Flight’ suite, aims to turn travel disruptions into a more positive experience by offering tangible benefits to passengers. The Changi App is now the first airport app in the world to combine real-time overseas airport information with an opt-in flight-delay assurance programme, redefining how airports can enhance passenger journeys beyond the terminal.

Travellers who opt into FlightSaver Assurance at least 12 hours before their scheduled departure will receive S$10 Changi e-vouchers if their flight is delayed by three hours or longer. The vouchers are instantly credited to the app and remain valid for 30 days, redeemable at participating outlets within Changi Airport’s transit areas. The initiative is currently part of a trial running until 30 September 2026, after which CAG plans to refine and potentially expand it into a long-term offering.

The upgraded Changi App also provides smarter, real-time travel support with enhanced features for both departing and arriving passengers. Travellers can now access up-to-date airport details, including gate and baggage belt information, local weather conditions at destinations, and real-time flight tracking from take-off to landing. The tracking function also allows friends and family to monitor flight progress. Push notifications deliver timely updates on flight status, gate changes, and baggage details directly to users’ mobile devices.

In addition, the app now offers seamless access to travel insurance, available through ChangiAssure with exclusive in-app discounts. This new functionality makes it easier for passengers to prepare for unexpected disruptions and manage travel plans in one place. CAG intends to continue expanding available travel services and products on the platform, enhancing convenience for travellers.

James Fong, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Digital Ecosystem & Business at Changi Airport Group, said:

“At Changi, we are continually evolving our digital ecosystem to anticipate travellers’ needs. Travel should always feel effortless even as plans change unexpectedly. By introducing FlightSaver Assurance and enhanced in-app features, we want travellers to feel cared for. These latest upgrades bring us closer towards a smarter, more connected and worry-free travel experience that travellers can enjoy at their fingertips.”
