Replica of Kashi Ghat to Shine at Jamboree; Scouts & Guides to Perform World-Famous Ganga Aarti – Indian PSU
After 61 years, the Mahakumbh of the Bharat Scouts and Guides is returning to Lucknow. The Yogi government will host the 19th National Jamboree from November 23 to 29, themed “Strong Youth, Developed India.” Scouts and Guides from across the country and around the world will take part in this grand Diamond Jubilee celebration.
More than 32,000 participants are expected, including 2,000 representatives from the Asia-Pacific region. Around 800 Scouts and Guides from the Varanasi division will present Purvanchal’s rich cultural heritage through cuisine, handicrafts, and artistic displays. A major highlight will be a replica of the Kashi ghats, where participants will witness the iconic Ganga Aarti performed each evening for all seven days.
The event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
District School Inspector Bholendra Pratap Singh stated that participants from various states and countries will exchange skills, cultural presentations, educational activities, social service projects, and experiences in international cooperation.
Assistant Regional Organization Commissioner (Scouts), Jai Prakash Daksh, confirmed that approximately 270 participants will come from the Varanasi district alone. “A grand recreation of the Ganga and the ghats of Kashi will be set up for visitors, and the world-famous Ganga Aarti will be performed daily,” he said.
Varanasi Contingent Leader Ashu Kumar Verma added that a Banarasi paan stall will be a key attraction. Visitors from around the world will also get to relish Banarasi chaat, puri, kachori, and jalebi at the Food Plaza. Unique handicrafts made from waste materials and clay sculptures will also be showcased.
Contingent leaders Rameshwari Verma and Vishnu Vishwakarma, reviewing the preparations, said that young delegates from Varanasi will demonstrate their creativity and learn new skills, techniques, and life values from Scouts and Guides worldwide. The jamboree aims to inspire youth while promoting the principle of “service is the highest religion.”
In line with fostering innovation and leadership among youth, an IT and AI hub is being set up at the venue. Workshops on digital learning, robotics, modern education, and innovation will be organized, along with a science expo, linking Scouts with cutting-edge technology.
This grand jamboree will not only celebrate the rich tradition of Scouting but also serve as a symbol of youth leadership, discipline, and national service in a developing India.
