Škoda Auto has done quite well with its electrification efforts so far. The Škoda Enyaq quickly became a big hit in Europe. Then, after a while, the company introduced the Škoda Elroq, and it’s been even more popular. Overall, the company’s EV growth year over year has actually been a bit crazy.
In a recent report from Volkswagen Group, way down toward the bottom where it got to the Škoda brand, the company noted, “The share of electric vehicles (BEV and PHEV) in the portfolio rose from 11.1% in the comparable prior year period to 24.1%.” A 13 percentage point rise in one year! Going from one out of every 10 cars sold having a plug to one out of ever 4 cars sold having a plug — impressive.
I actually don’t think I’ve seen that much growth in plugin share of a legacy auto company’s sales this year, or ever.

While the company mentions plugin hybrids, it also highlighted that the big driver of growth was the Elroq — as anyone who closely follows our Europe EV sales reports would expect. The Volkswagen Group announcement also noted that the model has already reached 100,000 sales.
That’s basically the EV news on this topic, but since EVs already account for about ¼ of the brand’s sales, here’s an overall update on Škoda Auto:
“Škoda Auto continued its successful development in vehicle sales, sales revenue and profit in the first nine months of 2025. With 765,700 vehicles delivered, Škoda boosted unit sales by 14.1% compared with the prior year period, reinforcing its position as the third strongest automobile brand in Europe. The total unit sales of the Škoda Auto Group, including deliveries to the sales companies of other brands in the Volkswagen Group, amounted to 869,700 vehicles. Sales revenue grew by 9.5% to 22.344 billion euros.
“The operating result improved by 5.4% to 1.79 billion euros, resulting in a solid operating revenue of 8.0%. In addition, Škoda successfully continued its electrification strategy in Europe.”
Congratulations to Škoda — it’s seeing solid growth, and that’s in essence coming entirely from electric cars. And this is from a sizable, significant auto brand that is quite large across Europe. Other legacy automakers: take note.
