Here at the nonprofit-led Advanced Water Heating Initiative, we are heat pump water heater dorks. Our favorite day of the year is Heat Pump Water Heater Day — which this year falls on October 23.

That whole day and really the entire week, we focus our attention and energy on trying to give this lowly technology (a crazy-efficient water heater) its day in the sun. We do lots of free events; from HPWH 101s, to a livestreamed contractor training, to a full day virtual conference with 50 leaders from the industry presenting.

We also get the word out about HPWHs. This year the theme is “Go Go HPWHs,” talking about all the amazing features on a heat pump water heater.

And to help raise awareness about heat pump water heating technology, two manufacturers (Ariston and Bosch) are donating a free HPWH and installation each to folks who post why they want one or why they love them. Yes, all you have to do to enter the raffle is post a message on any social media platform on or before October 23 to celebrate heat pump water heaters. Be sure to tag #HPWHDay.
