Automated material handling solutions provider Dematic has granted scholarships to five students at Michigan’s Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) as part of its 2024 Dematic STEM Scholarship Program. Now in its second year, this program highlights Dematic’s commitment to cultivating science, technology, engineering, and mathematic (STEM) talent as well as its strong ties to the Grand Rapids community, home to its North American headquarters. Each recipient was awarded $2,000 to support their studies.

Associates of freight transportation conglomerate Averitt recently presented a record donation of $1,750,001 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through Averitt Charities, the company’s charitable-giving arm. Averitt Charities is funded by $1 weekly payroll contributions from Averitt associates along with donations by the company. One hundred percent of Averitt Charities’ funds are designated for charitable efforts.
Material handling equipment manufacturer Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas has awarded its 21st Annual Cat Lift Trucks Scholarship to Dominique Quellar, a high school senior at Northbrook High School in Houston. The scholarship program honors an outstanding Houston-area high school senior interested in pursuing a four-year degree related to the material handling industry each year and comes with a $5,000 award. Over the years, the Cat Lift Trucks Scholarship Program has provided $145,000 in educational assistance to 29 Houston area students.
