VVIP Guest House for 9 Months: RINL Finance Director Under Fire, Union Seeks CVC Probe – Indian PSU
Visakha Steel Employees Union has strongly objected to the alleged unauthorized and illegal stay of Vinay Kumar, Director (Finance), RINL, in the Hill Top Guest House, Ukkunagaram.
Addressing the media, Padi Trinadha Rao, General Secretary of Visakha Steel Employees Union, said: “Hill Top Guest House is a luxurious VVIP transit house meant for brief stay of VVIPs, Ministers and dignitaries. But Director (Finance) Vinay Kumar has been staying there with his family continuously from December 2025 till date, for nine months, by abusing his power.”
“No authority is competent to approve such a long stay in a transit guest house. He is taking food and other luxury amenities at throwaway prices. Inventory worth lakhs, he is paying only thousands. This is a huge loss to public exchequer,” he alleged.
“It is more shocking that the bungalow allotted to him is lying vacant, and the company is spending a huge amount for its maintenance,” Trinadha Rao said.
Trinadha Rao further alleged that the Director (Finance) had earlier drawn 100% salary despite a salary cut imposed on other employees and remitted the amount only after the union raised a complaint.
“Now he is drawing full allowances while allowances of other executives are curtailed. This is a pattern of financial irregularity,” he alleged.
The union has lodged a complaint on CPGRAMS under the PMO and demanded:
- Immediate enquiry by CVO-RINL and CVC, along with an audit by government agencies.
- Recovery of full market rent at four-star hotel rates for nine months.
- Immediate vacation of the guest house.
- Disciplinary action for alleged abuse of power.
“The guest house decorum is degraded. While employees’ salary dues and the dues of retired and VRS employees remain unpaid for one year citing financial crisis, a Director is enjoying a four-star luxurious stay and a vacant bungalow is causing loss to the company. This double standard is not acceptable,” said Trinadha Rao.
