Air New Zealand partners with New Terminal One at JFK for enhanced passenger experience

Air New Zealand has partnered with The New Terminal One at New York’s JFK Airport, marking the next chapter for its operations. Set to open in 2026, the new terminal is part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion transformation of JFK, which includes new and expanded terminals, a modernized ground transportation center, and improved roadways. Air New Zealand, currently operating from JFK’s Terminal 1, will move to the New Terminal One upon its opening, offering an enhanced experience for passengers on its Auckland-New York route.

Details on JFK’s passenger experience being enhanced 

Air New Zealand’s flight between Auckland and JFK is one of the world’s longest, at over 17 hours, and operates three times weekly using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. “Since we launched our route to JFK over two years ago, it has become a cornerstone of our operations,” said Ben Evers-Swindell, General Manager Americas. He added, “We eagerly anticipate our transition to The New Terminal One at JFK and look forward to introducing our customers to an enhanced travel experience in 2026.”

Jennifer Aument, CEO of The New Terminal One, expressed excitement about the partnership: “Air New Zealand’s flagship service to New York City deserves a world-class guest experience at JFK, and we are proud to be their trusted partner.” The terminal will be the largest at JFK, with 2.6 million square feet of space and state-of-the-art technology. Other international airlines, including Air France, KLM, Etihad, and Turkish Airlines, will also operate from the new terminal. It will feature premium retail and dining, reflecting the spirit of New York.
