Arrogance Of A Maharatna Steel PSU Chairman At It’s Peak – www.indianpsu Asks Him To Withdraw Advertisement Offered To Us, He Obliges ! – Indian PSU
Few persons sitting on high chairs at the capacity of Chairman at Maharatna PSUs are perhaps living under the impression that they are much bigger than the God Almighty.
As it is known well to the viewers of www.indianpsu.com – that we are a small group of journalists which has done wonders in this genre in the past over four years and become the market leaders, without any corporate support or backing. To keep this independent nature of journalism alive, we have recently been asking heads of PSUs for advertisement support, like all small or big publications do.
CMDs sitting at the helm of affairs in NTPC, NMDC, IRCON International Limited were kind to us to lend a helping hand for us to keep independent journalism afloat. Many others PSUs have promised us help in terms of support in the coming days and we are confident that they would do so. Those who could not help, were decent and kind enough to at least express their regrets in polite terms and we highly appreciate them also.
But, this is a queer case of Chairman of Steel Behemoth Maharatna – Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) – Mr. Amarendu Prakash. We sent him several emails and many messages/ calls on his number but not once, did he find time to answer. Too busy perhaps…
Yesterday, i.e. November 25, 2024, we received an email from SAIL, issuing us one month advertisement for Rs. 50,000/- (Fifty Thousand per month)

Today morning, we send simple message to Mr. Amarendu Prakash, saying : Sir Good Morning, thanks as the CC Division people contacted me but have offered just one month of advertisement support though I had requested you for one year support, please see. Regards, Vivek Avasthi, Editor-in-Chief, www.indianpsu.com
Mr. Prakash, god knows why, lost his cool and called me to say that he does not know why i have been calling him and sending messages. To my utter shock, an infuriated Mr. Prakash started shouting “that need not teach him how many months are there in one year and that he does not have time to speak to people like you.”
Here, I would like to raise a simple question to the viewers of www.indianpsu.com – whether this should be the level of a man of the stature of Chairman of a Maharatna PSU ? You decide ….
“Nice, that was quite rude and curt. Kindly pull back the one month advertisement also. No worries. If senior professionals like you talk to senior journalists like this, it only goes to show your arrogance. As they say – power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, seems to be right for some people. Regards”
And as expected, after a few hours comes an email from the Corporate Communications Department of SAIL saying that ”
We have pulled down the advertisement of SAIL from our platform immediately.
www.indianpsu.com would like to tell Mr. Amarendu Prakash that we are not for sale for money and for a newsman / journalist, any amount of money is not bigger than the ethics and principles of journalism. We wish him good luck with some wisdom and virtue of politeness……..
