AHMEDABAD: The 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Consolidators Association of India (CAI) – Ahmedabad Chapter was held at Hyatt, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad, bringing together LCL Consolidators, freight forwarding professionals and logistics industry members for an evening of deliberations, networking and the election of a new managing committee.
The AGM witnessed the announcement of the new office bearers who will lead the CAI–Ahmedabad Chapter for the next two years. Mr. Arun Sharma of AMI Global Logistics Pvt. Ltd., who previously served as Vice President, has been elevated as the President of the Chapter.
The newly elected Managing Committee comprises:
- President: Mr. Arun Sharma – AMI Global Logistics Pvt. Ltd.
- Vice President: Mr. Biju Rohidasan – CTL Logistics India Pvt. Ltd.
- Secretary: Mr. Pritesh Acharya – Total Transport Systems Ltd.
- Joint Secretary: Ms. Misbah Davison – Vanguard Logistics
- Treasurer: Mr. Harsh Thakar – Teamleader Logistics Pvt. Ltd.
The following members have been elected as Executive Committee Members:
- Mr. Nikunj Dalal – Asian Worldwide Service India Pvt. Ltd.
- Mr. Amit Bellani – Transmarine Shipping & Logistics
- Mr. Akhil Dodiya – Allcargo Global Ltd.
The proceedings commenced with an inspiring welcome address by Mr. Sameer Patel, Vice President of Globelink WW India Pvt. Ltd., who is also a Senior Member and Past President of the CAI–Ahmedabad Chapter. In his opening remarks, he encouraged LCL consolidators to actively participate in the Association’s initiatives, contribute ideas and openly discuss industry challenges through the Association’s platform. He emphasized that healthy discussions and active member participation are essential for strengthening the organization.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Prashant Dalal, Immediate Past President of the CAI–Ahmedabad Chapter and representative of EMU Lines Pvt. Ltd., expressed his gratitude to all members for their support during his tenure. He appealed to members to continue working together as one fraternity, supporting one another for the overall growth of the logistics community. He also assured the members that he would remain actively associated with the Chapter and continue extending his guidance and support whenever required.
One of the highlights of the AGM was an insightful presentation by Special Guest Mr. Gautam Nautiyal, who delivered an engaging session on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the logistics industry. His interactive presentation focused on how AI is transforming logistics operations, improving efficiency and creating new opportunities for businesses in the supply chain sector.
The gathering was also addressed by Dr. Darshan Mashroo, a highly respected senior member of Ahmedabad’s logistics fraternity and an active member associated with the Ahmedabad Custom Brokers’ Association (ACBA), FFFAI and several other trade bodies. He urged CAI members to actively contribute towards strengthening the Association and expanding its activities. Responding to a member’s query, Dr. Mashroo shared his views on election practices adopted by various trade associations, including ACBA, while advocating that consensus-based selection, wherever possible, helps maintain unity and harmony within industry associations.
Following the announcement of the new Managing Committee, newly elected President Mr. Arun Sharma thanked the members for reposing confidence in his leadership. He called upon all members to actively support the Association’s initiatives and encouraged them to approach the Association whenever they encounter operational difficulties while handling cargo at Inland Container Depots (ICDs). He assured members that the Association would make every possible effort to represent and resolve genuine industry concerns.
As part of the statutory proceedings, the Income and Expenditure Statement of the CAI–Ahmedabad Chapter for the previous financial year was presented before the members and duly discussed during the AGM.
The AGM concluded on a positive and optimistic note, reflecting the Association’s commitment to fostering collaboration, strengthening industry representation and addressing the evolving needs of India’s LCL consolidation community. With a new leadership team assuming office, members expressed confidence that the CAI–Ahmedabad Chapter will continue to play a significant role in promoting the interests of LCL consolidators and enhancing cooperation across the logistics sector.
