The construction of the climate-positive Syncraft power plant in Waiern (Austria) is advancing swiftly. The team on site has reached several crucial milestones: the steel construction assembly has been finalized, container assembly has been completed, the INNIO gas engine was delivered and installed, and the radiator has already been mounted on the rooftop. Looking ahead, the next phases include insulation, pipework, and electrical installation — setting the stage for the plant’s planned commissioning in Q3-2025.

Project Overview & Community Impact

The Waiern plant, a CW1800-500 Syncraft system, is being built for Diakonie de La Tour, with the generated heat set to feed directly into the local district heating network. By using regional forest residues, the plant will generate renewable electricity and heat while also producing valuable CDR (green carbon / biochar). This combination creates a truly climate-positive outcome, supporting regional decarbonization and providing a model of sustainable energy supply for the community.
