Coal Secretary Vikram Dev Dutt Reviews Coal India Reforms, Launches Digital Portals to Boost Employee Welfare and Customer Services – Indian PSU

Coal Secretary Vikram Dev Dutt chaired a comprehensive review meeting of Coal India Limited in Kolkata on Saturday to assess the progress of key reform initiatives undertaken by the Maharatna coal producer. The initiatives are aimed at strengthening operational performance, enhancing efficiency, and driving organizational excellence across Coal India.

The review assumes significance as Coal India has declared the current year as the “Year of Reform and Transform”, with a strong focus on modernization, digital transformation, process optimization, and improved governance.

During the meeting, the Coal Secretary reviewed the implementation of various reform measures and emphasized the need for sustained efforts to improve productivity, transparency, customer satisfaction, and employee welfare through technology-driven initiatives.

On the occasion, Vikram Dev Dutt launched a series of digital portals and dashboards that are expected to significantly enhance employee welfare and customer-centric services across Coal India. The newly launched platforms include:

  • CIL MedEX Portal
  • CIL Swasth Portal
  • Third-Party Sampling Agreement Portal
  • Landed Price Dashboard
  • Consumer Portal

These digital initiatives are designed to streamline service delivery, improve transparency, facilitate better healthcare support for employees, strengthen quality assurance mechanisms, and provide enhanced services to coal consumers.

The review meeting was attended by B. Sairam, Sanjeev Kumar Kassi, Mukesh Choudhary, Director (Marketing & HR – Additional Charge), Mukesh Agrawal, Director (Finance), Achyut Ghatak, Director (Technical), Asheesh Kumar, Director (Business Development), Brajesh Kumar Tripathy, Chief Vigilance Officer, along with the Chairmen-cum-Managing Directors of Coal India’s subsidiary companies and other senior executives.

The meeting reaffirmed Coal India’s commitment to accelerating reforms, leveraging digital technologies, and enhancing operational efficiency in line with the Ministry of Coal’s vision for a modern, transparent, and customer-focused coal sector.
