Flights to Barcelona

In addition to the two planned daily itineraries from New York-JFK, Delta Air Lines has also planned daily flights from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) in April 2025.

By June 2025, the airline’s schedule to the Spanish city will expand to include Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), with the carrier totaling 27 weekly flights from Atlanta, Boston, and New York to Barcelona during the month, up until October 2025, coinciding with the end of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) summer season.

Other airlines flying from New York-JFK to Barcelona include oneworld carriers American Airlines and Iberia, with both carriers scheduling daily flights on the route during the upcoming summer season.

However, LEVEL, a Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN)-based subsidiary of the International Airlines Group ( IAG), could also launch its own flights on the route as well. The airline has been in the process of obtaining its air operator’s certificate (AOC). Currently, LEVEL operates flights under Iberia’s flight code IB.

Growing transatlantic presence

The schedules showed that in June 2025, Delta Air Lines has scheduled 32 additional weekly flights from the United States to Europe compared to the same month in 2024, including at least eight new routes across the Atlantic Ocean:

However, one route, from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) to Dublin Airport (DUB), could be threatened by the current regulatory issues at the latter. While the Irish High Court has temporarily issued a stay order to the imposition of the 32 million annual passenger cap at the airport, things could still change.

Especially as the country will hold a general election at the end of November, with one party, Fianna Fáil, already promising to remove the cap at Dublin Airport (DUB), according to the Irish Independent.

On September 20, Delta Air Lines detailed its summer 2025 plans for its transatlantic network, with a lot of emphasis on Italy, where the airline will add 10% capacity year-on-year (YoY).
