LONDON: DP World has secured two wins at the prestigious Multimodal Awards 2026 in Birmingham, taking home the ‘Port Company of the Year’ award for the fourth consecutive year.
DP World company, Community Network Services (CNS), a leading digital trade solutions provider, was also named ‘Exhibitor of the Year’ in recognition of its outstanding exhibition presence, customer engagement and commitment to supporting the logistics and international trade community, while celebrating its 40th year operating in the UK.
DP World was crowned ‘Port Company of the Year’ following a landmark year at its UK terminals. Last year, DP World handled a combined five million TEU at London Gateway and Southampton in a national market totalling nine million TEU. London Gateway alone handled over three million TEU, a record-breaking achievement which saw its volumes increase by more than 50% from 2024.
The increase came thanks to the launch of full operations at the £350 million all-electric fourth berth, keeping London Gateway on track to become the UK’s largest throughput container port by the end of the decade. The £1bn expansion of the port is a major ongoing construction project that will add two new all-electric berths and a second rail terminal to the logistics hub on the Thames. The new rail terminal is already partially in operation, boosting rail freight capacity, while the port’s fifth berth will be completed in 2027.
At Southampton, DP World handled over two million TEU in 2025, cementing the port’s role as one of the UK’s most important trading gateways. The recent arrival of two of Europe’s largest quay cranes at the port, with two more expected later this year, will boost capacity further as part of a £60m investment to future-proof operations in the Solent.
Kris Adams, DP World CEO UK Ports & Terminals, said: “We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition at the Multimodal Awards for a fourth consecutive year, which is testament to the hard work and dedication of our teams at London Gateway and Southampton. They continue to deliver an outstanding service for our customers, while we work to make major investments at both ports to future-proof operations for decades to come.”
Matthew Bradley, Managing Director at CNS, said: “We’re delighted to receive the ‘Exhibitor of the Year’ award as we mark our 40th year in the UK. This recognition reflects the dedication of our team and the strong partnerships we’ve built across the industry. Multimodal is an important opportunity to connect with customers and partners, showcase our digital trade solutions and demonstrate our commitment to supporting the future of UK trade. We look forward to continuing to deliver the innovative solutions our customers rely on.”
