Third-party logistics provider (3PL) Echo Global Logistics will expand its drop trailer program for shippers and carriers through a partnership with transportation and logistics equipment provider Wabash, the firms said.

In a move to address growing demand for flexible freight options, Echo said it has selected Wabash’s Trailers as a Service (TaaS) platform to gain access to capacity on demand without the complexity of fleet ownership.

According to Lafayette, Indiana-based Wabash, its TaaS solution bundles scalable trailer capacity with maintenance, repair, and telematics, delivered through the company’s national dealer and preferred partner network.

“We’re proud to partner with Echo, one of the most tech-forward 3PLs in the industry, to support their growth in the drop trailer space,” Mike Pettit, Chief Growth Officer at Wabash, said in a release. “Echo’s decision to integrate TaaS into their operations highlights the strength of our platform and our ability to adapt to the unique needs of leading freight brokers.”
