A few days before Google’s announcement about its Expert Intelligence initiative for e-books bought through Google Play, Elsevier announced the launch of Nora AI, an AI-powered assistant available within Elsevier e-books through VitalSource’s Bookshelf platform. Nora AI enables users to ask questions and receive personalized, evidence-based answers drawn directly from Elsevier content, per the announcement.
Created by Elsevier and designed for healthcare education, Nora AI allows students and educators to interact with Elsevier content and get answers to questions about the text without having to leave the e-book.
“Healthcare education is at a pivotal time as AI creates new opportunities to support how students learn and educators teach,” said Brent Gordon, president of global healthcare education at Elsevier, said in a statement. “Nora AI gives students timely support within the flow of learning and provides educators with a reliable resource that complements their instruction.”
