The Oregon-based humanoid robot manufacturer Agility today began trading its company shares on the Nasdaq stock market, saying the move would raise $465 million in gross capital before transaction expenses.

Agility had first announced the plan in June, saying it would conduct the move by merging with a SPAC entity called Churchill Capital Corp XI. The goal of the initiative is to raise proceeds to support fulfillment of existing customer orders, expansion of commercial deployments, scaling of Digit v5 production, and continued investment in Agility’s integrated platform, the firm said at the time.

Agility’s main product is the “Digit” model of humanoid robot, which it defines as a general-purpose, human-centric robot that is currently operating in manufacturing, distribution, and logistics environments to fill chronic physical labor shortages. Existing customers now using Digit to automate repetitive physical tasks include Schaeffler, GXO, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, and Mercado Libre.

“Today marks an important milestone for Agility, but the bigger story is what it means for the future of work,” said Peggy Johnson, CEO of Agility Robotics. “AI is moving beyond the digital world and into the physical world, creating new possibilities for how people and machines work together. At Agility, that future is already taking shape. Digit is doing real work in customer operations today, taking on repetitive, physically demanding tasks. Becoming a public company gives us access to more resources to help accelerate that progress, bring intelligent robots to more workplaces and help build a future where people and robots accomplish more together.”
