Poland’s flag carrier LOT Polish Airlines
will begin flights to Iceland in April, making it the fourth 
Star Alliance
carrier to serve the North Atlantic destination next year. The flights are part of LOT’s more significant expansion, which has also announced links to Malta and Cyprus in recent months.
LOT Polish Airlines lands in Iceland
The flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport
(WAW) to Iceland will begin on April 12th, 2025, and run four times weekly. LOT will fly into Keflavik International Airport
(KEF) which serves the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik, using its fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft.

The airline said being in the alliance ensures passengers receive high-quality service and maximum comfort.
The flights are already on sale and will take around four hours, with the times varying slightly depending on the day of the week. The outbound service from Poland will run in the evenings, with the return leg flying out shortly after midnight and landing back in Warsaw in the morning.

The flights will also be timed to provide for onward connections from Iceland to LOT’s extensive European network. According to the airline, the new route will serve both leisure and business travelers:
“We’re excited to announce the launch of direct flights to Reykjavik-Keflavik, starting in April 2025. Not only is Keflavik the perfect gateway to explore Iceland’s vibrant capital, but it also opens the door to the country’s breathtaking natural wonders – from glaciers and geysers to volcanoes and waterfalls.
“This new route will make it even easier for travellers to connect through Warsaw, while also providing Icelandic passengers with access to LOT’s extensive network across Europe and beyond. We’re confident this will strengthen business ties and tourism between Iceland and Poland.”

During the following winter season, the flights will be reduced to three weekly services to accommodate demand, with the Saturday service being dropped in favor of keeping the Sunday link.
Reaching all the islands with LOT
The route announcement is the second new destination LOT Polish Airlines has announced in recent weeks. In addition to Iceland, the carrier will begin flights to Malta (MLA) next April. The Malta flights are also scheduled to be operated by the carrier’s Boeing 737s, which are configured in a two-class arrangement.

The airline also relaunched flights to Lancarna on the island nation of Cyprus earlier this year. Other destinations launched this year include a seasonal service to Innsbruck, which began last month; Lyon resumed in September; Rihyad and Oradea (LOT’s third Romanian destination, following Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca) arrived in June;flights to Athens started again in April; and followed Tashkent (the capital of Uzbekistan), which began in March.
Following the Iceland lunch, Daily flights between Warsaw Chopin Airport and Thessaloniki, Greece, will begin on June 17th, 2025. The additions are part of a plan the carrier announced last year to introduce nearly 20 new scheduled destinations, both medium and long-haul, to the LOT Polish Airlines flight network by the end of 2028.
