The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu on Monday inaugurated the Leadership Development Programme (LDP) for Young Managers (Batch–VI) for executives of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). The five-day Executive Education programme has been specially designed to strengthen leadership capabilities and managerial competencies of SAIL’s emerging leaders.
The programme commenced at the Bharat Classroom, Academic Block, IIM Jammu, with participation from 50 young managers representing various SAIL plants across the country. The customised programme aims to equip participants with contemporary management insights, strategic leadership skills, and practical approaches to drive organizational excellence in an evolving business environment.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty & Research, IIM Jammu. The event was also graced by Dr. Atanu Mukherjee, General Manager (Academic), Central HRD & Senior Faculty, Management Training Institute (MTI), SAIL, who joined virtually. Also present were Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (EE&C), and Programme Directors Dr. Anuja Akhouri and Dr. Naveen Goyal of IIM Jammu.
The inaugural session included participant introductions, laying the foundation for collaborative learning, knowledge sharing, and professional networking among executives from different SAIL units.
The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Naveen Goyal, Programme Director, IIM Jammu. He expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, SAIL officials, participants, and the organizing team for their contributions to the successful launch of the programme. He encouraged participants to actively exchange ideas, experiences, and best practices throughout the training, promoting a culture of continuous learning and shared growth.
