pilot was arrested at Boston Logan International Airport
on Thursday, February 20, after authorities identified an active warrant for his arrest in North Carolina, ABC News reported. Jeremy Gudorf, 33, of Ohio, was detained just before he was scheduled to pilot a flight from Boston to Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport
. The arrest stems from charges of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

Authorities flag active warrant ahead of the Paris-bound flight
The arrest occurred around 20:40 when US Customs and Border Protection ( CBP
) agents were conducting a routine review of the flight manifest for the Boston-to-Paris route. During this review, CBP agents flagged Gudorf as a member of the flight crew wanted in connection with a serious criminal investigation in Huntersville, North Carolina.
“In conducting their standard review of the manifest of a Boston-to-Paris flight, CBP identified an active North Carolina warrant lodged against a member of the flight crew who was detained,” Massachusetts State Police said in a statement, according to CBS News.

JetBlue places pilot on indefinite leave following arrest
JetBlue, in a statement, acknowledged the arrest and confirmed that they were reviewing the situation closely. The airline also said that Gudorf has been placed on “indefinite leave,” according to WCVB News. “We are aware of and closely reviewing the arrest of one of our pilots upon reporting for work at Boston’s Logan Airport Thursday evening due to an outstanding warrant,” JetBlue said in a statement. “The pilot has been placed on indefinite leave as law enforcement proceeds with the matter.“

Investigation into the pilot began with tip
North Carolina’s Huntersville Police Department said in a statement that the charges against Gudorf relate to an investigation that began last year. In October 2024, police in Huntersville, North Carolina, received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding suspected child exploitation images.
The subsequent investigation led to a search warrant being executed against Google, which provided authorities with crucial records. These records enabled law enforcement to trace the images back to Gudorf. In December 2024, an arrest warrant was issued, and Gudorf was charged with second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Bail set for Gudorf, scheduled to report in North Carolina
Gudorf was charged with second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor for service and was arraigned in East Boston District Court on Friday. Prosecutors argued that he should be held without bail, citing the seriousness of the charges and his potential flight risk.
“He is a commercial pilot, the warrant is out of North Carolina, and he resides in Ohio. So for those reasons, we ask he be held without bail and surrender his passport,” prosecutor Kyle Neyman said.
“These are serious charges. The news is here. He’s not just going to be able to run away from this,” stated Gudorf’s defense attorney, Tanvi Verma. “He does have the financial capacity to rent a car and drive to North Carolina. He has assured me he will do that.“

Despite the prosecution’s request, the judge ultimately granted Gudorf $10,000 bail. However, the bail was conditional on his reporting to North Carolina by Tuesday, February 25, to address the charges there. If Gudorf fails to comply with this condition, he risks further legal complications.
Additionally, he was charged by Massachusetts authorities with one count of being a fugitive from justice without a warrant. If North Carolina waives the warrant, Gudorf will not need to return to Massachusetts for a status hearing on the fugitive charge. If the warrant is not waived, Gudorf is scheduled to appear in Boston again on March 19, 2025.
