Major Milestone for Paradip Port : MV RUN ZHOU delivers High-Capacity Gantry Cranes for Western Dock expansion
PARADIP : In a significant development for India’s maritime infrastructure sector, the equipment vessel MV RUN ZHOU has successfully berthed at Jindal Paradip Port Limited (JPPL) at the South Jetty of the Western Dock, marking another important milestone in the ongoing modernization and capacity enhancement initiatives at Paradip Port.
The vessel has arrived carrying two state-of-the-art Multi-Purpose Gantry Cranes with a handling capacity of 3000 tonnes per hour (TPH). The advanced cargo-handling equipment is expected to substantially strengthen terminal productivity, improve turnaround times, and boost overall operational efficiency at the Western Dock facility.
The induction of these high-capacity cranes forms a critical component of the Western Dock infrastructure development project, which is progressing at an accelerated pace and reportedly ahead of schedule. Once commissioned, the new equipment will significantly enhance the port’s capability to handle diverse cargo streams, supporting higher throughput volumes and improved logistics performance.
