National Air Cargo, which operates National Airlines, opened the Farnborough International Airshow 2024 with an order for four Boeing 777F aircraft, which has followed several other 777F sales prior to the event.
First direct Boeing purchase
National Airlines has ordered four Boeing 777F aircraft, becoming the first airline to order aircraft at the Farnborough International Airshow in 2024.
Boeing detailed that this was National Airlines’ first direct aircraft purchase from the aircraft manufacturer, adding that it would add the order to its backlog once it was finalized.

Christopher Alf, the chairman of National Airlines, was cited as saying by Boeing that the order demonstrated its commitment to offering efficient, resourceful, and modern air freight services to its customers across the globe.
“The order affirms our fleet growth plan as we enter into the next chapter of National. We sincerely appreciate the support by Boeing and all its associated teams in this journey ahead.”

Deliveries between 2025 and 2026
During the press conference announcing the order, it was unveiled that National Airlines should take delivery of the four aircraft in 2025 and 2026, with deliveries being split between two aircraft in Q4 2025 and two in Q1 2026.

According to Boeing, the quartet of twin-engine freighters will join National Airlines’ nine Boeing 747-400F aircraft, with ch-aviation data showing that out of the nine, six had been converted from passenger aircraft.
Currently, the carrier has no Boeing 777Fs in its fleet, operating a mix of Airbus A330, Boeing 747, and Boeing 757 passenger and cargo aircraft.
National Airlines’ A330-200, A330-300, and 757-200 aircraft are configured as passenger aircraft, ch-aviation fleet data showed.

Selling 777Fs
So far in 2024, Boeing has booked orders for 12 777F aircraft, as of June 30, which included purchases from two unidentified customers for five and one 777Fs, while Turkish Airlines bought four aircraft of the type in June, with the order being announced in early July.

With the latest order on July 16, Emirates’ backlog of 777Fs grew to ten aircraft of the type. Whether the five were added to Boeing’s backlog and assigned to an unidentified customer in June remains unclear, with the manufacturer set to release its latest orders and deliveries data in early August.
Nevertheless, as of June 30, Boeing had 59 777F aircraft in its backlog, which includes gross orders. The backlog also includes Volga-Dnepr, which has been sanctioned due to its involvement in the logistical support of the Russian armed forces during its illegal invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
