NHPC Limited Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Bhupender Gupta has formally inaugurated the construction works of the 240 MW Uri-I Stage-II Hydroelectric Project in Baramulla district of Jammu & Kashmir. Marking the commencement of major construction activities, he performed the first blast for the Head Race Tunnel (HRT) from Adit-3 through Adit-3A.
The project is considered a significant step towards enhancing clean energy generation and accelerating regional development in Jammu & Kashmir.
Formal Commencement of Construction Activities
The inauguration ceremony was attended by NHPC Director (Technical) Suprakash Adhikari, representatives from the Baramulla district administration and police authorities, along with local residents.
The first blast marked the official beginning of key construction works, paving the way for accelerated project development.
