Senior management of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), led by Director (Technology & Field Services) Vikram Saxena, along with experts from the Crisis Management Team (CMT), has taken over operational control of Well Mori-5 at the Mori Field, operated by Deep Industries Limited, following the incident reported at the site.

ONGC informed that excavation work for creating a temporary canal from a nearby irrigation source has been completed to facilitate the deployment of high-capacity firewater pumps. Fire pumps have reached the wellsite, and positioning and installation activities are currently underway. A comprehensive blowout control plan has also been finalised and is being implemented.

According to ONGC, a gradual reduction in flame intensity and size has been observed. The response team has also successfully redirected the flame to a vertical orientation, aiding safer and more effective control operations.

Environmental parameters, including air quality, noise levels, and nearby water bodies, are being continuously monitored within a 600-metre radius to minimise any potential impact.

ONGC stated that it remains in close coordination with all stakeholders, including district and police administrations, local authorities, and the media, to ensure transparency and an effective response. The company reiterated that all actions are being undertaken in line with the highest standards of safety and environmental care.
