Public Sector Headhunter, the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), has issued an advertisement for the selection for the post of Chairman, ONGC, as the present Chairman Arun Kumar Singh is set to superannuate on December 7, 2025.
Last date for submission of applications by the applicants is by 03:00 PM on 01.04.2025. Last date for nodal officers to forward applications to PESB is by 03:00 PM on 11.04.2025.
It was the first instance in PSUs that a retired official was brought back to head a public sector utility in the oil and gas sector, when the former Chairman of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Arun Kumar Singh, was appointed Chairman and Managing Director of ONGC for three years. Singh had retired from BPCL in October 2022.
Singh is a mechanical engineer from National Institute of Technology, Patna. He was Director (Marketing) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) from October 2018 to September 2021, after which he was elevated as chairman and managing director of the company. He retired as BPCL head 13 months later in October 2022.
“The restructuring of the Board of ONGC has been approved in the context of emerging trends in the energy sector and national energy priorities,” the ministry had said in a statement.
