The flag carrier of Jordan is offering a status match promotion, allowing frequent flyers of other airlines to gain oneworld alliance status. Royal Jordanian Airlines is offering the promotion to members of quite a few airline programs, but only in select countries.
A way to oneworld status.
Royal Jordanian Airlines is a member of the oneworld alliance, allowing members of its Royal Club to enjoy benefits across a large number of carriers. This partnership with Statusmatch.com will enable participants with frequent flyer status with one of the eligible airlines to gain the equivalent frequent flyer status in the Royal Club program at the Gold Sparrow or Silver Jay tiers.
There is an application fee for the status match, which comes to $49 for Silver Jay qualifying applicants and $149 for Gold Sparrow applicants. Silver Jay status is on the oneworld Ruby tier, comparable with British Airways Silver status, and offers the following benefits:
- Access to business class priority check-in when flying oneworld.
- Access to preferred seating (where offered).
- Priority on waitlists and when on standby (where offered).
- Access to Royal Jordanian (RJ) Crown Lounge in Queen Alia International Airport when flying RJ in exchange for 1500 miles.
- Priority placement on reservation waitlist on RJ flights.
- Extra baggage allowance on RJ flights.

Gold Sparrow members also have one complimentary upgrade to Crown Class per year on Royal Jordanian flights. However, eligible members do not receive the upgrade vouchers as part of their status match until they re-qualify for the status tier. If the application is approved, each member will receive the corresponding frequent flyer status in the Royal Club Program within five business days, and it will remain valid for 12 months.
