SECL Reviews Coal Dispatch, Production and Safe Mining Operations at GM Coordination Meeting – Indian PSU
South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) held a General Managers’ Coordination Meeting at its headquarters in Bilaspur on October 5, 2026, with CMD Harish Duhan chairing the meeting.
Director (Human Resources) Biranchi Das, Director (Technical/Operations) Ramesh Chandra Mahapatra and Director (Technical/Projects & Planning) Nripendra Nath attended the meeting along with heads of various departments at SECL headquarters. General Managers from different SECL areas participated through video conferencing.
The meeting focused on maximising coal dispatch and ensuring the early evacuation of available coal stocks. Production and productivity across different areas were reviewed, with particular emphasis on maintaining safe and uninterrupted mining operations during the monsoon period.
Operational and production-related issues from various SECL areas were also examined. The management stressed achieving assigned production targets and accelerating activities wherever required to improve operational performance.
During the meeting, CMD Harish Duhan launched two digital initiatives of SECL — the Land Asset Calculation Portal (LACP) and SUGAM (Scrap Utilisation Governance Analysis & Monitoring) Portal.
The LACP will provide a digital workflow for compensation-related processes involving land and assets. The system is designed to make asset compensation calculation and processing more systematic, transparent and streamlined.
The SUGAM portal will provide a digital platform for monitoring and analysing scrap management, utilisation and related activities. The initiative is aimed at improving the management of scrap and promoting its effective utilisation across SECL.
The meeting also underlined the importance of operational efficiency, faster coal movement and safe mining practices as SECL works towards meeting its production and dispatch targets.
