The German technology provider Siemens AG plans to acquire Wevolver, a Dutch firm whose platform provides electronics intelligence to users in the semiconductors, robotics, AI, and manufacturing process sectors.
Siemens said the move will enhance the product portfolio of its Supplyframe Design-to-Source Intelligence (DSI) network, a unit acquired by Siemens in 2021 which serves the electronics industry with intelligence such as design intent, demand, supply, and risk factors. Specifically, the acquisition of Wevolver amplifies Supplyframe’s reach to more hardware and software engineers researching future product designs, the company said.
According to Wevolver, it reaches millions of people every month on its web platform and social media channels. And Supplyframe operates more than 70 websites that provide access to data on over 1 billion electronic components, including real-time availability and lead time data, along with 700,000 downloadable 2D and 3D models.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. But in a blog post, Wevolver cofounders Bram Geenen and Richard Hulskes said they would take on new roles at Siemens, charged with growing the community and user base across the entire Supplyframe network, including the Wevolver platform.
