Steel Club Of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Conducts International Women’s Day Celebrations – Indian PSU

On the occasion of international women’s day, Steel Club of Ukkunagaram conducted several competitions and the valedictory function at Steel club on Monday

Dr. S.C. Pandey, Director(Personnel) and additional charge Director (Finance) and Chief patron of steel club, Mrs. Abha Pandey, Vice president, Visteel Mahila Samithi inaugurated the celebrations.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pandey said at RINL, more than 400 women employees are working, out of which 68% are executives and 32% are non-executives. RINL is always in forefront towards the welfare of women employees. A woman friendly work environment has been created at RINL, where the women employees are contributing towards organisational growth.

Smt Abha Pandey, Vice president, Visteel Mahila Samithi in her address said that women in Indian tradition have always been given importance, that is why we call always goddess name before the God name like Sita-rama,Laxmi-narayan, Uma-shankar. She urged all women to come forward in all fields and work for the growth of the nation.

Smt. Kantimohanti Padma, a social activist while delivering a talk on women empowerment, iterated that it is worth noting to see women empowerment in all walks of life.

Several senior women employees, officials of RINL, WIPS members, Secretary Steel Club and Committee members and a large number of women attended the programme.
