Retail powerhouse Walmart today opened a 1-million-square-foot distribution center in Jacksonville, Florida, saying the facility will receive and process items for delivery to 18 Sam’s Club locations across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina as well as seven clubs in Puerto Rico.

In addition, the DC will leverage its location just 10 minutes from the Port of Jacksonville to store and sort imported goods for delivery to four distribution centers across the Southeast, Arkansas-based Walmart said.
According to Walmart, the facility also creates 250 local Jacksonville-based jobs.
