European low-cost carrier Wizz Air has launched a new subscription product allowing members to take unlimited flights for 12 months. The product is offered at an introductory rate of just €399 ($435), equivalent to just €33.25 ($36.30) per month. Travel tech company Caravelo is enabling the solution.

Where would you travel if you didn’t have to worry about paying for your flights? This could be an excellent product if you travel frequently and live near a Wizz Air hub. The primary condition of the deal is that you must book your flight at least 72 hours before departure.

On sale today

The new Wizz Air product is already on sale from today, but you can’t use it just yet. According to Caravelo, the company behind the technology making the subscription possible, passengers can only book flights due to take off from May 2024 onwards. The product will, however, be valid on as many flights as the holder wants across the entire Wizz Air network.

It is also worth noting that the €399 price is only an introduction price touted as “offering a significant saving opportunity for early adopters”. This suggests the price may rise quite a bit, but it is unclear what the final price will be.

Commenting on the launch, Iñaki Uriz, Caravelo’s CEO, said,

“We are proud to extend our partnership with Wizz Air on this transformative journey. The expansion of our subscription service is a testament to our combined commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction in the travel industry. This marks a significant milestone for Caravelo and a major step forward in redefining air travel.”

Lucky winners will depart from London Gatwick for a four-night trip.

Where could you fly with the pass?

As mentioned, the new flight pass is valid across the entire Wizz Air network. Theoretically, you could travel across Europe, the Middle East, and even to Male with the product, assuming you are willing to make some stops along the way.

If you live near an airport with just one flight, you would always need to fly to a Wizz Hub to fly onwards. It’s worth noting that these flights would likely be treated as separate bookings, so if something goes wrong, you might have to make a new booking for 72 hours. It was unclear if there would be any penalties for booking and not using flights.

Below is a map spider web of all of Wizz Air’s routes. Though it is not helpful to see exactly where the airline is flying in May (when the pass can start to be used), it gives an idea of how immense the airline’s network is.

Presumably, you will benefit most from the product if you travel regularly on a single route or live near a large Wizz Air hub. According to schedule data from Cirium, the airline is planning more than 1,000 flights from six airports in May 2024 as follows,

  1. London Luton, United Kingdom (LTN) – 1,697 flights
  2. Tirana, Albania (TIA) – 1,387 flights
  3. Rome, Italy (FCO) – 1,373 flights
  4. Bucharest, Romania (OTP) – 1,235 flights
  5. Budapest, Hungary (BUD) – 1,083 flights
  6. Warsaw, Poland (WAW), 1,004 flights
