As major global carriers increasingly strengthen their partnerships with other airlines, British Airways, too, has decided to extend its codeshare deals with Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo and LATAM in Brazil. The new routes added will become available in the coming weeks.
Partnership with IndiGo
Last Year, British Airways
and Indian low-cost giant IndiGo
announced a new codeshare partnership
, starting with eight routes and including cities like Thiruvananthapuram, Rajkot, and Vadodara. Now, they have strengthened that deal even further by announcing an extension to include more routes.

From September 30, passengers can travel to 18 destinations across India with British Airways’ code, including Goa and Ahmedabad. British Airways operates non-stop flights to five Indian destinations: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The new codeshare tickets are now available for booking.
IndiGo is the largest airline in India, penetrating every corner of the country with a network that far surpasses any of its competitors. With the codeshare extension, British Airways passengers traveling from London Heathrow via its five Indian gateways will now have 39 codeshare routes available.

IndiGo uses 6E independently under this flight code. With the British Airways code on some of its flights, all BA rules and rescheduling policies apply, and all fare types can be booked. The deal also includes a complimentary light meal of snacks and a sandwich for all British Airways connecting customers.
Partnership with LATAM
On the other side of the world, in the Southern Hemisphere, British Airways is doubling down on its footprint in Brazil by offering more frequencies to São Paulo and expanding its existing partnership with LATAM
.
From October 27, the airline will offer more flights between London Heathrow (LHR) and São Paulo (GRU) for the winter 2024 season. BA also flies to Rio de Janeiro (GIG), and through its two gateways in Brazil, it plans to offer its passengers more access to the country by expanding its codeshare deal with LATAM.

Under the expansion of the partnership, British Airways will offer its passengers connectivity to 14 destinations across Brazil. This amounts to 20 routes being available as codeshare options when traveling from London Heathrow via São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Those traveling from LHR can connect to destinations such as Florianópolis (FLN), Fortaleza (FOR), Londrina (LDB), Navegantes (NVT), Uberlândia (UDI), Foz do Iguaçu (IGU), Salvador (SSA), and Porto Alegre (POA).
It’s also worth noting that British Airways Executive Club members will be allowed to earn or spend Avios and earn Tier Points when flying LATAM on a British Airways codeshare journey.
Other BA news
British Airways is also expanding its presence in Southeast Asia and will launch two new routes this winter. Starting November 10, it will introduce a new London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur route, operating daily all year round.
From October 28, BA will also launch London Gatwick to Bangkok route, operating three times weekly throughout Winter 2024 and into the Summer 2025 schedule during the Easter holidays.
